Though short, this week has been good. I am starting to make some headway in my search for software engineers. For those that don't know, a good engineer is like striking gold! Nothing functions without them and they aren't easy to find. I have roughly twenty engineer openings. Color me lucky! The good news is that I am finding them. Not only am I finding them (the easier part of the equation), but I am also engaging them in conversation, which is the hard part of the equation. I created a game for myself, and to win the game I need three placements in May. Will it be easy or difficult? Heck if I know! For all I know, I might be playing a very small game. I will soon find out though.
Last night I discovered another section of the city that I never knew existed. I ventured out onto Commercial Street. It was an easy walk from my hotel and it is dotted with shops, restaurants, and bars. I mean the entire street! For a Tuesday evening it was pretty busy too. The main mistake that I made was stopping for a drink. I only had two drinks, a LycheeTini and a Pinot Noir, but I felt like CRAP in the morning. To make matters worse, the wine was horrible and the lychee martini was so bad that I couldn't finish half of it. God knows who mixed it, but they shouldn't be behind a bar! I think I will explore the street further during the daytime this weekend. There are so many little shops and pubs that it could take the entire weekend to accomplish.
