An Old Friend Returns

Just when I thought it was gone it returned.  Naturally I am referring to the wretched headache from days ago.  Who knows where it is coming from and why all of a sudden its happening.  What I do know is that a steady diet of aspirin and decongestants no longer does the trick.  Its almost 48hrs now since my last one and I hope to start a new trend.

Today I broke down and bought a Myki Card.  Yes, I know, its about time...  The Myki Card is used to ride the Melbourne Trams.  I have been avoiding the tram since arriving, but today I bought the card and even took a short ride.  Its not that I am afraid of the tram.  What I am afraid of is getting lost while on the tram!  I mean there are trams every few minutes it seems.  Who knows where they go and where I can get off!  Buying my Myki and riding the few blocks was a breakthrough for me by any measure.  With a bit of luck I might take it again tomorrow.  That said, I took a cab back home after arriving to my destination by tram!  :)

The only real reason that I left the hotel at all today is because of Chris- again!  I really don't know why I listen to him even when he is a gazillion miles away, but I do.  A haircut was in order anyway so I convinced myself that the haircut was the real reason to get out.  After the haircut I tram'd it to Southgate again and had a bit of a walkabout.  Poor choice really since I had already been there a couple weeks back.  I thought that I might buy a light coat since I neglected to bring one on the trip.  The coats that I found were straight up ugly though.  Style wise they are just completely different and not me by any stretch.  Pockets and zippers on the front in odd places.  Very European I would imagine, but I am not European.  I remember seeing a Target here...  Go ahead and laugh.

My big plans for the rest of the weekend?  Absolutely nothing as of yet.  Since my laundry person is no longer around (hehehe) I will likely venture out in hopes of finding a laundromat.  There is a place across the street that does laundry buy the piece or pound, but everything is so damned expensive!   I think I will give it a go myself.  Who knows, I might even tram it there!  Other than laundry, I need to get my ass running and catching up on some work.  The past two days have been mostly spent on reporting and meetings.  Needless to say I am behind again.  Not really, but as far as I am concerned I am behind.   Maybe I will get caught up this weekend... Who knows?

If I have learned one thing over the past several weeks it is to expect the unexpected.  I am contemplating a quick cocktail downstairs and if I do.... Well again, who knows?  Last week one cocktail turned into meeting Tanja and going out for a 12 day bus ride the next day.  Great weekend!  Maybe another Tanja is waiting for me now?  If anything fun does happen then you can count on it appearing here tomorrow.  Life normally throws me an unexpected curveball when I am in this kind of mood.  You know... Missing family, friends, and of course Chris.  We will see...

Sending lots of love to all the appropriate people. :)
