Chicken Counting

You know what they say about counting those damn chickens before they hatch!  I had a sinking feeling that I was celebrating too quickly, and I was right.  The first three of my six engineer candidates interviewed today.  Unfortunately 2 out of 3 of them didn't do as well as I had hoped.  At least #3 did a good job.  Its likely that I will be running references and presenting an offer to him by the end of the week.  Fingers crossed for candidate #4 interviewing tomorrow!  I recall saying that I would be happy with three out of six making it through.  Did I jinx myself?

The weather here is quickly shifting to COLD, my favorite. NOT!  Ugh...  I am definitely going to be needing a coat sooner than I had thought.  Everyone says that it will get cold but not cold enough to snow.  I hope they are correct.  Snow is not my friend and it could do bad things to my psyche.  Oh yeah, a random thought about something that I forgot to mention yesterday.  Regarding the differences between the states and OZ...  I forgot to mention that it is acceptable to swear on network television.  Imagine my shock when I was watch Hells Kitchen and I heard Chef Ramsey say, "Now Fuck Off".   I couldn't believe my ears.  Not that its wrong or anything, I'm just not used to hearing severe profanity on network television.  LOL!

In terms of good news, well I have some GREAT news to share.  Chris' flight to OZ is finalized and booked!  He arrives on July 4th and stays until the 18th.  Give or take a day because of the international date line and such.  I am super stoked!  Of course we both owe a HUGE THANK YOU to Sheff for watching the kids while he is away.  The kiddies love their Uncle Sheff, so its a treat for them but probably not so much for Sheff.  My vacation days were submitted on Monday and they were approved today.  This is the first time EVER that I have had a paid vacation.  How cool is that?  I love my job and I love Electronic Arts even more!  Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I would be part of such a great company.

Until tomorrow...
